You melt into the gray of distance like instant milk, like everything else.
I cannot separate your voice from the chirping and the hissing.
Stand still for one second while I trace your field of vision onto the earth.
This is a fine clearing.
For my eyes to rest.

A thin stainless-steel aperture stands mysteriously within the Roman archeological site of Deir El Qalaa framing the valley beyond. The surface is polished to act as a mirror, reflecting the textures and colors surrounding it, almost melting into the landscape. A drone-like looping sound suffuses the space drawing visitors closer to the sculpture and perhaps crossing its threshold. Landscapes extend indefinitely in space until we delineate their boundary.
